Does audio output (3.5 mm) and hdmi on multimedia dock work together?

I have a simple question. Perhaps a silly one, but I would be very grateful if you could share your experiences or knowledge about it.

My question is whether the audio out of the multimedia dock will work flawlessly if I connect my tab with an hdmi cable to a monitor or screen at the same time.

If not, would it be possible to connect the tab via hdmi to a monitor, with the monitor being connected to audio directly?

Hmm, perhaps a bit vague. I'm interested in connecting my tab to a monitor (that I still have to buy) and would like to be able to watch video via my tab on the monitor with the sound on my simple stereo speakers with 3.5 mm jacks.

No, you will have to use auido out on the monitor (TV)

Thanks for your reply. So, if I would buy a screen with an audio output, and connect my speakers with it - and my tab via the multimedia dock with hdmi to it as well - everything should work?
