Help Does Dr.Fone work on AT&T phone?

I had to take my phone to get the software reinstalled and all my files were deleted as a result. My phone is an AT&T Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A). I am trying to use Dr. Fone android recovery tool to see if I can retreive my deleted files. If you look at the image, it says it will root my phone. From what I understand, AT&T Galaxy S5's cannot be rooted. Will this damage my phone?

Hi chadmartin

The AT&T model, G900A, cannot be rooted and any attempt to do so could cause problems and even brick your phone. If you have had a Factory Data Reset applied to your phone and a re-flash of your firmware by AT&T then I doubt very much that you will be able to recover anything from the phone's internal memory now.
