It seems like I used to get pretty good battery life out of my Fire tablet (7" 2015 version) before I installed the Google Play Store on it. If I wasn't playing games too much, the battery barely drained at all in standby mode.

But now it seems like it drains up to 10% overnight for no apparent reason, and faster when using it as well.

Are there any settings I might be able to change to help with this? Anything Google services might be doing in the background that I can turn off?

Thanks.

Amazon & Google still haven't worked out their issues over app stores I haven't heard about it anyway. Amazons devices work better with their own app store

I have apps from both I think... Is there a Fire app store?

Yes there is, and I use it for all of my apps except the few I can't, such as Gmail and Chrome. I'm just wondering if maybe there are some behind-the-scenes actions going on that I can turn off.

Edit: I made the original post, but I wasn't logged in at the time.

From the Play Store app on your Fire tablet turn off auto-update using the hamburger bar on the left of the search bar. Restart and see if it is also off when you use your browser to go to the Play Store.

Yes, I have that off already because the Play Store is always trying to update apps that I installed through the Amazon App Store, which I don't want to do. I thought they would be kept separate, but I guess not.

Hmm, I'd have thought they'd be separate too.

Neither my phone nor tablet would drain that much overnight, so I wouldn't say that is normal for Play Services (though I never let anything update automatically). Whether it's normal for Play Services on a Fire device I can't say though.
