does HTC sync compress images?

does HTC sync compress images when syncing to the phone? anyone know?

is there any sync apps/ programs that compress?

When I synced contacts with outlook, the contact images were compressed and then sent to the computer. If i synced two-way again, the compressed images overwrote the images on the phone. So i guess either outlook or htc sync is compressing the images.

i WANT my images to be compressed or optimized for the phone. there's no sense in having my 5 megapixel photos on my phone taking up unnecessary space. i belive zune does this for it's devices.
