Help Does Magic Alarm work whilst the Fone is switched off??

Hi Guy's,

Soon to get the Magic.

When you set an Alarm at nite for work in the morning, then switch the Fone off, will the Alarm sound in the morning whilst the Fone is off?

Guy's does anyone know the answer to this question??

I want to set my Alarm before bed, then switch off the fone, then will my Alarm still go off in the morning???

If by "switch off" you mean power it down completely, then no the alarm will not run. The OS needs to be running in order to react to events (time-based or otherwise).

Yeah that is exactly what I meant!

So is there any way to do this? Is there a Sleep mode on the Fone that would save battery? Or is it just a matter of leaving it on? But obviously this would use battery!!

P.S. What is the Battery like with general use, I.E. a few calls/Emails/texts/browsing??

Well, you'd normally leave it in 'stand-by' mode, that is, powered on but with the screen locked and turned off.

As for maximising battery life, you have several options:
-- switch off your radios, this is the best way to preserve power. You can do this manually by setting Flight Mode, but to do it easily I recommend Toggle Settings (there are many apps that do this kind of thing)
-- use a power manager (Locale?) to make a daily schedule
-- get a better battery
-- put your charger on your bedside table
