Does MySms incur international charges when outside the US?

I love the way Mysms syncs your messaging between phone, tablet and pc - SUPER convenient. What I'm trying to avoid is the $60/month AT&T international charge for roaming text messaging. So what I'm trying to understand is how mysms sends a message....does it use your phone to do this?

I just thought of a way to test this though....I'm going to turn off my cell service on my phone and see what happens when I text from my tablet.

If it's using internet data, which I'm sure this does for the syncing, you'll definitely incur data roaming charges, unless you keep it to WiFi only.

Answer is nothing happens when you have airplane mode turned on and wifi turned on....so I answered my own question and hopefully answered a question I couldn't find the answer to online anywhere.

Mysms uses your cell phones cell service to send your text messages where ever it happens to be. So if ou are on an airplane with no cell coverage, no texting. Or if you are in India, it will send an sms and incur international sms charges.

Guess I'm stuck with skype/whatsapp in the meantime.....but perhaps I can link them all with an app????

A little more info for those interested....

MySms app does have an outbound connector app that allows you to chose which outbound service your texting will use. So you can chose a different "carrier" of OUTBOUND messages only (and they can't be replied to). For example "Mysms out" costs 12 cents per message while AT&T costs 50 cents when international (without an international plan). Doesn't solve the inbound problem though.

Don't see a way to connect other apps to it....yet....
