DOes Skydroid use data plan

Matty10

Lurker
I just got my android phone HTC Inspire and I want to use a golf gps app (skydroid) will it use up my very meager data plan. I have no idea how they work.

Yes it will. You can always find out by downloading the app, and before it installs, it will tell you what permissions it requires. If it requires Internet Access, then it will use your data.

When I have used Skydroid which is a fabulous golf app I have not incurred any data usage. It is recieving your position from satellites and all additional information from the app and the course information. As you move the satellites up date your position and adjusts your new distance to the green is calculated by the app.

Phew, after 8 years at least that's settled. :p
