Does the LG G6 have IR blaster?

Is it really an issue?

I have 2 remotes, the regular TV remote app and the LG "magic" remote (sort of like the nunchuck thing for the original Wii) for my TV. Because you have to point the normal remote pretty much dead on at the TV for it to work, the only time it gets used is when my Mrs needs to turn subtitles on.

Does the phone come with the LG Remote app installed?

It's not a big deal IMO. I've used plenty of phones without an IR blaster. But it's one of those things that's incredibly handy if you do have it.

No, the remote app is not installed.

Not really. It's only handy if you can't find the legitimate remote. ;)

I've got a few Sammy Tablets that have IR blasters and while they do work to turn on the TV or change the volume, there's always something not quite right with a DVD player or cable box to make it just two inches shy of useless.

I liked my remote app a lot. It replaced a bloody expensive Logitech multi-remote that had bought the farm for about $3.99.

I'm pretty sure I gave Anymote a spin around the block. Downstairs it refused to change the channels on the cable box, and upstairs it would only power on/off the TV. Maybe I've got some odd combinations of hardware but we've got a Logitech Harmony downstairs that's fantastic, and an el-cheapo universal remote from Target ($6.99 if memory serves) that runs everything.

This doesn't bother me. My Optimum app can control my cable boxes directly through the app, which is actually better than IR because I don't need a line of sight.
