Haha true. LG was one of the last IR blaster holdouts. Guess it's dead now.
It's funny, because it's not as if there's any move away from IR remotes in domestic equipment, so the demand should be the same as it ever was, but everyone has dropped it over the last few years. I guess it's just that it's not been something that drives purchasing decisions for many people, and hence including it is an extra expense or use of space that can be cut.
I can't lie, regardless of the stupid pre-installed remote app, I really miss having an IR blaster in my phone. It was always fun to walk past my parents TV and just turn it off.
