Does the model matter ?

Ok so I am finding not a lot of people have my phone ( haipai I939 - galaxy s3clone). So I am wondering does the model really matter like could I flash the stock galaxy S3 onto it and then from there flash the custom roms that go with it.

Basically I wanna try some of the galaxy S3 roms but I'm worried my phone will not take them?

Welcome to Android Forums.

The general answer to your question is yes it does matter but your phone might be a special case.

To seek out other uses of your phone I moved your thread from Android Lounge to the forum for discussing phones that don't have a dedicated forum.

Good luck.

The Chinese "clones" are phones that look like what they're clones of and have a lot of the firmware that those phones (the S3 in your case) have - but they're NOT the same phones. We had a poster here earlier today who tried that - IIRC on an S3 clone - and now has a nice desk ornament.

see that is why I always ask and research. Thanks, I will not go down that road then and just look into doing everything properly by which I mean moding it myself and learning how things work and maybe try creating my own rom.
