Does TiKL ever work?

Am I missing something? I've tried using this app on my old Sprint Hero, my wife's Optimus S, and now my Evo 3D, and it always says that the other person doesn't have it when I know they do.

It worked last night between my wife and I, but we were sitting right next to each other. It hasn't worked at long distance yet. Maybe she's getting bad data in her area and that's causing it not to work.

It worked fine for me and my sister. She is NC and I am in WA. Of course, this was about 2 or 3 months ago. I have long since deleted the app though because I never used it more than that one time.

I should have said it doesn't work reliably for me anymore.

Actually, it worked for me (OG Droid) and my wife (Droid Eris) for several months. But it seemed to totally eat the Eris's battery, so we both deleted it.
