I think LG does a great job with mobile phones. They don't create a piece of crap which goes to the bin in a few months. They manufacture good smartphones, and then move on . They don't just 'abandon' a particular line; what they do is they move away from the system that is used by almost all smartphone makers these days. they don't want you to buy their phones every year, they only want you to buy their phones. that's why they make good devices that last way longer than a year or a year and a half. If you don't abuse the screen (keep brightness below 70%), don't abuse the power button (click as little as possible, use knock on feature), don't abuse the USB port (be gentle and kind EVERY time you plug in), don't abuse the battery, never go under 25%, unplug when 100% when possible), do not do drop tests, and keep the rigidity of the phone for emergencies.
And then your phone will easily last a few years. Remember to keep it looking good, so when you decide to get a new one, you can sell this one (or give it away), keep on recycling electronic stuff.
