Doggcatcher vs BeyondPod, which is better?

I haven't used BeyondPod, but Doggcatcher is really good, recently has aquired variable speed if you install the Presto addon (cheap paid app from Market), and is actively supported by its Dev. I highly recommend it.
 
I know nothing about podcasts having a fear of all things Apple but now I see that some of the TV shows I watch are available via Podcast. Dumb questions: Are these the full versions w/video or just audio? Do they cost anything and if so how much? For example? I watch ESPN shows like JRiB, Around the Horn & PTI and I think those are avialable via Podcast now. Can I download them to my Android device (Evo 4G or Archos Tablet) and then watch them at the gym or on the road? Thanks for the help and sorry if this is off topic.
