Dolphin and google maps

Stubby

Lurker
I recently started using the dolphin browser which I've really liked, however when I look up something and click a 'get directions' icon from the google search page it will only map out where that location is at (via maps.google.com). It won't give me directions and I can't figure out how to zoom out. On the stock browser it gives you the option to do it with the google maps app which works great because then you actually get directions.

I tried long holding on the 'get directions' tab when opening in dolphin and it doesn't give the option to open with the app. Any ideas? I can copy and paste, but seems kinda' like a pain.

I run the HTC eris fyi.

Thanks, Ian

Yeah, the link between the regular browser and google maps application is much better than with Dolphin. Definitely something that is a bummer.

There are various threads about this floating around the forums. This scenario is a bug in Dolphin, where it doesn't correctly catch ident calls. Think "Open With" in Windows.

When clicking the link, instead of displaying a window that should allow you to open Google Maps, Dolphin just ignores this function and processes the link itself.

Until Dolphin fixes this (or Fennic is released) for situations like these, use the stock browser or Infinity.
