"Don't lurk Say Hi" banner = waste of space

thundt

Lurker
Be nice if that massive banner wouldn't display all the time.
I'm wondering if your system is smart enough to remove it after I post something. (If not... that's pretty sad.)

FYI what keeps me from actually saying hi and feeling like part of a community is your TOS, which states that everything I write becomes YOUR PROPERTY. This is the wrong way to do it. It should be MY PROPERTY but licensed to you perpetually, non-exclusively, and free of charge. This is the way the world is going so you might want to get with the program.

Welcome to the forums!

You should post that in the Feedback and suggestions forum. ;)

It doesn't...

I'm sure it is. I've been a member here for about a week, and didn't see it after a couple of posts here.

Welcome to the internet. Every time you post somewhere on the internet, that post becomes property of the site owner. NYT's, Faux News, Wordpress sites, Blogspot sites, LiveJournals, etc.

It's always the property of the site owner, with few exceptions (Wikipedia, Citizendium, SourceForge) and those exceptions make it very clear what license they are under.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

The don't lurk banner goes away as soon as a post is made to the Introductions forum. Some might call that a motivator for the new member to simply introduce themselves.
