Help Door won't stay closed

I'm sure this issue is answered here somewhere, but I didn't find it in any searches I did.

I've opened the door often enough, to play with the microSD and SIM, that the door won't stay closed. Meaning the phone often can't see the SIM or the SD or both - not a good thing. The phone is usually in an Otter Box case, which holds the door in place. When the phone isn't in the case, life isn't as cheery.

How do I fix the door to stay shut when the phone isn't in its case? And ...uh... maybe duct tape isn't Plan A.

I guess my question is why you'd need the phone to not be in its case...
When I travel to the Bahamas, I have to change the SIM. And test it before re-installing the case. Further, there are days I could do without the OtterBox altogether. The state of the door rules that out.

Fair enough. I have a case that just pops on around the edges of the phone, so I guess in my case it wouldn't be such an inconvenience. I'm sure you don't want to hear "buy a different case", so I won't suggest that.

Afraid I don't have any good ideas for you. :(

I thought this was a relatively chronic problem, and one previously discussed, but the answer seems to be no and no. Oh well...

'Scuse me while I go lie down in traffic or something. The fix for the door is easy. Stuff the blinkin' chips in until they lock in place. [/facepalm]

It's amazing I've lived as long as I have...
