Help Double Notification SOUND for Text messaging, HELP!

I have the Droid Razzr Maxx and recently upgraded. Before the upgrade I had this same problem and have not figured out how to fix it. I am not using a third part texting app. I am using the stock texting app.

When I get a text message, I get two notifications sounds. When I look at my settings I have it on silent. I don't get it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Having never heard of anything like that, I'd suggest a Factory Reset.

On a side note, when you upgraded to ICS, did you do a Factory Reset or let the upgrade automatically handle it?

The update causes many quirky bugs. A factory reset should be done after the update to ICS.

i think i remember hearing something about this with the app Light Flow. do you have that installed?

Do you have a 2nd texting app installed? If so, you are getting notices from both. You can stop notifications in the default app.

Not necessarily an ICS bug. My phone has been doing this since I got it and installed Handcent SMS... and I like it! I have the same sound for email and text messages (Facebook Pop). It's nice and simple, but getting the double pop lets me know it's a text vs email. I turned sound notifications off on the stock text app and it stopped, so I turned them back on and enjoy my very subtle notifications that are different from emails.
