Help Double Photo Download imac

I use g+ photos for most storage, but when connecting phone as a camera to my iMac, it downloads 2 copies of each photo- one in regular quality and one in low-def, like it was a thumbnail picture. Anyone else getting this or know how to avoid it?

Delete the low-def picture.
