Double Text message tone

Every time I get a text message, my phone alerts me twice. I do have handcent, and I did disable the notifications on the stock text messaging app and it still did this. Then, I uninstalled handcent from my phone thinking maybe I can reinstall it and it would stop notifying me twice; which didn't work. So now I just have the stock messaging app and it's still notifying me twice every time I get a single text message. Any thoughts? It's driving me insane.

Nope; when I disabled the stock text app notifications it was JUST the handcent icon. And now that I only have the Stock app, it's just that icon.

Okay so I changed my text message tone and sent myself a message. The first one is my text message tone; the second one is a notification that I can't figure out where it's coming from. So I have two different tones going off, I just have to figure out where the second tone is coming from.

HAHA fixed it. Turned out it was Ringo Lite - it had the text message sound set to "Droid" as well. Woo!

ever since i installed slide it keyboard to my incredible i get double txt alerts now....is there anyway to fix it???

I have a LG GT540 I would like to have constant alert that I have a message
((till I've answered it)) Is there such a thing on my phone ?????
