Download error code -101 Android Marketplace

i have a samsung galaxy nexus (ice cream sandwich) and for the past few weeks i keep getting an error code -101 when i try to update or even download any apps from the market place...how do i fix this?
 
Welcome to Android Forums cjohagen,

The most common fix for this is to go into Settings | Apps | All | Market (or Play) and clear data and cache.

You can also check in with the GNex forum that fits your needs from our home page. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus forum has evolved into the GSM version while the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has information about LTE phones.
