Help Downloading and updating issues

[Android Question]

I have an Xperia E1 and I am having trouble downloading apps as well as files and documents off of play store and Google Chrome. In play store I don't get any further than the download bar and with Google Chrome the download starts and then says "download unsuccessful". I'm not sure what the problem is but nothing I've done to try and solve the problem has worked so far.

As obvious as it may sound, make sure you have enough space available for the download and a steady connection to either wi-fi or mobile data.

If so, then go into your Application Manager and force stop and clear data on Google Play Store and Google Play Store Services.

If that doesn't solve the issue try a soft reset followed by factory reset.
