Help Downloading applications from playstore gets stuck

For one year i was perfectly happy with my moto x with the stock version of android. For one year i resisted the temptation to UPDATE to the latest versin of android despite being repeatedly reminded Update, update..
So one fine morning i fell for it and pressed the 'im in' button. The trouble starts now. The phone become very sluggish. pressing flashlight button would turn on the light after about 2 seconds. Playstore updates get stuck at 30%. app downloads get stuck halfway. Battery got drained to 50% in less tha 2 hours. I feel like hitting my phone with a hammer. why do you do this to people oh Google. ?

Could it be the fact that you procrastinated so long to update your apps could be what is causing those problems? You didn't state how many apps you had to update. For example: Let's say you have the Bank of America app version. 5.4.1 downloaded on your phone and you have to update it to 7.5.2. Look how much more information the app has to add to get to the latest version. You see if you had a ton of apps updating in succession it would over heat your phone and cause problems. Depending on your phone and Android OS version; the update may not be compatible with your phone. It may require an entire phone upgrade to the latest operating system (OS) or purchase of the latest model phone. To sum this up - get all your updates as soon as they are available and you will definitely avoid this problem. Good luck!!!

If you can do a factory reset ,the problem may be solved. and uninstall update in play store and play services. and update .clear cache in settings. Reboot device.

well, i woudnt dare to update my phone OS by myself. And motorola wouldnt push the update if my phone couldnt handle the update. However,my problem is solved. I was preparing to backup by phone and do a hard reset the next day.
It was strange. My phone was warm to touch the whole day as if it caught flu..Dialing a contact took 8 seconds to initiate the call...so laggy

The next day woke up to find my phone in perfect state, buttery smooth. I love it now. Android was reshuffling things in my phone, probable the reason why it was warm and jittery and the battery drain..no factory reset and now things are better than ever.
