Downloading apps to PC for future use

Hello,

I ordered a XOOM online that will be here next week, but I'd really like to take advantage of the $0.10 app sale going on.

Is there a way to download apps to my PC, so that I can install them onto my XOOM once it gets here?

Thank you for your help

If you already own an Android device, just point your PC browser to market.android.com and buy the ones you want, and install them for free later

Yes, a good idea, devices with the same Google account can "share" purchased apps :)

I do it all the time. Download to pc, and then establish a USB connection to your tablet or phone (I have both).
1. Drag/drop the file(s) from your pc to the sdcard/Download directory on your Android device
2. Open the device's file manager application ("My files" on Samsung) and navigate to where you just copied the file
3. Double-tap the file in question to initiate install dialogue (some file managers use long press instead of double-tap)
You don't need to be rooted, but you must have "Unknown sources" enabled (checked) under Settings > Applications for this to work.

adaaaam's suggestion was also good... and you can do the same thing with the Amazon appstore.

There's a little problem here. The instructions you are saying refer to when you already have the apk file. The guy is asking how to get the apk files from the market (of paid apps).

Hmm, you're right. I've done it in the past from one Android device to another (using pc as an intermediary) when Bluetooth sycnching wasn't an option. That said, the OP's request does appear to be possible (see Google), but the "solutions" seem overly complex or untrustworthy. Even if he finds a way, it can be problematic. Reason? Because the Market only presents apps compatible with the device doing the downloading (if known). The app may ultimately turn out to be incompatible with the destination tablet. I used the PC method to get Crackle onto my phone, which ultimately turned out to be incompatible.
