Downloading Apps to Phone

Is it actually possible to be able to download new apps to the SD Card on my Android phone, or is the SD Card only available for pictures and videos I take with the phone?
 
In theory, apps can be relocated to the SD card, which frees up your internal storage, but not all apps support relocation to SD card. And certain app data must be located on internal storage, so the gains are marginal.
What you can do is format your SD card as 'adoptable' storage, which allows it to extend your limited internal storage. Doing this means the card can't be used on any other device though. You'll need a fast SD card to do this, at least class 10 or UHS.
 
In general, you may download a package installer to a SD card while the app will be installed to device storage other than SD card by default.

What is a ‘Class 10 or UHS’ SD Card?
When I bought my phone I knew NOTHING about storage. The phone only has 8 GB of Internal Storage :(. I’ve had to delete apps I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES to make room for new apps. I was REALLY hoping that I could simply download new apps to the SD Card (which was the main reason I bought the Card in the first place). LOL LOL LOL.

What?! What’s a ‘package installer’?!

What do you mean ‘...while the app will be installed to device storage other than SD card by default’. Do you mean the package installer app will have to be downloaded to my Internal Storage first (so I’d have to delete one of my already extant apps to make room for it)?!?!

Sorry for the drama - I’m just having fun! XD (but I am serious about the actual issue).
