Downloading apps

DR47

Lurker
Hi,

I recently bough a samsung galaxy ace about 2 days ago and would like to download some apps.

So on my phone i have tried to connect through the android application and it says when i log in that it "cant establish a reliable data connection to the server"

on on the android website, i have made a google account etc and it says i dont have any devices?

what am i doing wrong? and how do i get it to work.

Please help.

When you first opened your phone, it asked you to input a Google account before you start. Did you enter a Google account? If you did not, you must go to Menu>Settings>Accounts and Sync> and put in a Google account. Remember that this must be a gmail address.

oh ok i think i might of skipped that section, i just did it now though and it says it cant establish a reliable data connection to the server.

and that comes up when i use all teh apps that need to be connected to the net

should i take my sim out of my phone and start again?

Try to do that. My network detects if I have put the SIM on a new phone so they send me the correct settings. It may be the same for you. It seems that your mobile internet connection from your network provider is not working. Remember that once its working, connecting to the internet, it would cost you money from your cellphone credits. You could also just connect to a WiFi hotspot so you can surf the internet for free.

ok so i took my sim out and now change has occured.

i didnt recieve any new network settings, but i can access the net, even before i could, i just cant access any app to do with google such as teh android market etc.

if i did a factory reset would it work again?

ok i thought i would let you know

i re set my phone and everything works perfectly!

i think when i first started up my phone i didnt do set up my account at the start and that was the problem

lol, thanks for all your help!
