Downloading MMS

When someone sends me an MMS I push the "download" button and all it does is say "Currently unable to download message. Please try again later". Is there some setting on my p[hone that is preventing it from downloading MMS?

I have a LG Optimus

This has been this way over a week. Ready for a SOLVE!
 
Welcome to Android Forums! Sorry for the slow response.

The only thing I can think of is that the storage space for MMS is too full. If you save off pictures and videos from stored MMS to your SD card, and then delete the messages, it will free up space.
