downloading to folder on home screen

I watch and download a lot of videos for college and the only way to view them is to download them to the myfiles then open the myfiles and go to downloads then find the video to play. Isn't there any easier way with less steps? I tried to put a copy of that download folder on the home screen but it didn't work. Is there a way to download the video from the school website to one folder to access? Thanks.

Plenty of ways, depends on how much you want to modify your phone by using third party apps.

Assuming you are using your SGS3 listed in your profile and not another device, you can do any of the ff:

1. Using the default apps, you can open the video player app and tap on "folders". It will show you a direct link to the Downloads folder and all the videos inside. You can put a shortcut to that app on the homescreen. This can also be done using different video player apps like Dice or MX Player.

2. Get a third party File Explorer app, like Astro or ES File Explorer. You can put shortcuts to folders from those apps onto your homescreen.
