Help downloads

I am very new to Android and NOT very knowledgable about computers at all!
I have Alkido reader installed and when I try to download ANY file it immediately goes there.
When I first started this did not happen and I got a choice message as to how/where I wanted the file to download.
How this is clear. All help gratefully received.

Try going into Settings > Apps > Downloaded, select Aldiko, scroll down and look for a button "clear defaults".

What that does is that it will stop Aldiko being the default app for any particular action, which should make the device go back to asking you what you want to do.

My guess is that at some point when it asked you what app you wanted to use you clicked to do this "every time" rather than "this time only", and so from then on it hasn't asked you what you want to do.
