Help Droid 2 Damaged SD card

Out of the blue my Droid 2 gave me the Damaged SD card message and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I had some pictures on there and now I cannot access any of them. Is there a way to recover any of this without reformatting it?

Try acessing it on the PC before anything...card reader if not you have to format it sorry.

I also need to add I am a total beginner when it comes to this stuff. If I plug it into a computer it doesn't recognize there is a card so would anyone be able to walk me through what to do?
