Root Droid 2 Global Rooting Compatibility?

chmodx

Android Enthusiast
I have a coworker who is running a Droid 2 global.

I'm familiar and comfortable with the whole rooting process of a Droid X and SBFing. I've got z4 root, D2 bootstrapper, etc.

1. Is there an SBF file available for the Droid 2 global so in case I screw up we can restore the phone?

2. Is the rooting process the same on the Droid 2 as the X, run z4, reboot, d2 bootstrap and then go into wipe data, cache, install whatever rom?

3. Is installing all of the roms that simple on the Droid 2? D2 bootstrapper and then install after wiping? I'm looking at Liquid Gingerbread for her phone and want to make sure there won't be any major issues.

Any input is appreciated.

1. D2G SBF (2.4.29)
2. Yes.
3. Yes, but you need to verify whether the ROM is using the Froyo kernel or GB kernel. In your case, LGB actually uses the Froyo kernel. You should be able to install from 2.4.29.
