Help Droid 2 No Service? Searching For Service won't go away.

So I turned my phone onto 'Sleep' cause it was dying and I've never had this problem before. My mom's phone works fine, it's just mine. It's saying this when I look at the info:
Network: Searching For Service
Mobile Network Type: Unknown
Service State: Out Of Service
Mobile Network State: Disconnected

I can't do the *228 thing either, cause it says I don't have service to do so and always fails.

try rebooting the phone.

Try pulling the battery. Put it in and out of airplane mode.

I did try, but that wasn't the problem. I took it to a guy the day before to fix my cracked screen I had and he messed it up further, and then I took it to a different guy and he fixed it.
