I had the same issue , I removed superuser and did a full restore using power button and both volume keys at the same time , went into recovery wiped cache and did a full data wipe now iam waiting like everyone else for a 4.1.2 jb root for droid 4 ive done motofail and motofail 2 no dice that was for ics and simple then there is razor_blade and droid 4 utilities I ran both because it would just freeze after doing the smart action save ,its in the process , anyway to say it works is a lie!!! ive done it front to back and nothing on mtp/media device not mass storage ,even though I tried that and camera mode as well even jb droid 4 4.1 has a different bypass for the activation luckly I figured it out and made a video on it and how to flash to page plus free or cricket etc. back on root so remove root 1 remove superuser 2 then restore then try dan rosenburgs method using droid 4 utilities which is just a longer version of razor_blade made exclusive for the droid razor , what I don't get like you is why di the photon ,atrix and razor get a root specific root method but not us with the droid 4 xt894 and the difference is the kernel and system razor is 9.8.18 ours is 9.8.20 so better anyway the updates ota over the air were all released 2/2013 and I think I know why we don't have 1 ... ready key word bootloader! Motorola has now released an unlock method to the phones I listed above but not the droid 4 ,the boot loader being unlocked is root! so by having the code strait from Motorola they can make a root batch zip . but now we just have droid 4 tablets booo well time will tell djbliss and tom and dan Rosenberg have all gotten emails from me to make a specific droid 4 root with superuser and busybox .will it happen who knows they are still making jelly bean roms for the droid 2 and cant even root a droid 4 wth anyway iam glad motofail worked flawlessly on both my droid 3,s and I can run 4.0.4 on them if I want but no Bluetooth so I am with steel droid 4.8 by chevycam1994 who rocks and has the best roms ever no hunting for the gapps /google apps to load they are included in the rom as should be and his has working camera nova launcher , well as for the droid 4 iam working on it and will touch base if I hear anything ive just got the same 3 responses well razor blade or motofail works .NO IT DOESENT OR I WOULD BE UP AT 3AM FOR THE PAST 4 DAYS TRYING REPEATEDLY TO ROOT THE PHONE OMG TALK ABOUT HARD HEADED AND 1 PERSON 1 SAID THEY USED RAZORBLADE ON A DROID 4 AND IT WORKED ? WTF IVE RUN MINE AND 4 OF MY FRIENDS WITH ALL THE DRIVAND RESTORE IT EVERYTIME BECAUSE THAT WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO !!!!! OH AND THE BAD NEWS IS IF YOU RSD LITE BACK TO ICS YOULL BRICK I GUESS VERIZON WANTS THEIR CUSTOMERS BACK FROM PAGEPLUS SO BEWARE DONT BRICK DO NOT REVERT DUE TO THE KERNAL CHANGE THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT WELL HOPE THAT HELPED AND MAYBE YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING BEFORE I GO NUTZ LOOKING AND HELP ME OUT , THANKS
