droid bionic unlock post-mortem

my husband died and I have been trying for 9 months to unlock his droid bionic on verizion, I have a samsung illusion and can unlock it easily with code. However, his death still has an open police investigationn and I can't unlock his phone to see what he did with the last 3 weeks of his life. Is there a code like samsung's illusion to open the droid bionic via emergency dialer without losing data.

I'm definitely no expert here, but my limited knowledge tells me that if this is a PIN lock or a Swipe lock, you are probably out of luck. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but security is like that on Android for the reason of keeping those who don't have the code out of the phone.

Now, I'm sure that there is some way to "hack" into the phone, but I honestly don't know if that's legal. I'd recommend contacting Verizon and asking them.
