Droid Gallery Issue

So I run into this issue quite often. Say I take a picture with my camera on my phone. That photo immediately pops up under the "Camera" folder in my Gallery. HOWEVER, when I download pictures (through DropBox sometimes through xScope I believe too) they will not appear in the Gallery until a little later. And by "a little" I mean a lot. Hours. Sometimes I have to restart my phone before the Gallery adds the photos. Other times when this happens is when I'm creating my own albums (by creating folders with ES File Explorer, Astro, etc) it won't show the new folders, etc.

I'm assuming it's because the Gallery doesn't "refresh" its data that often. When I download a photo via DropBox for example, the photo is there. I can see it using a file explorer. However it doesn't appear in the Gallery. This can be a real pain for times where I download something on my computer, put it in my DropBox so I can save it on my phone and then use the image for an app, etc.

Any ideas or anyone else noticed this? I probably didn't describe my issue all too well so if you have any questions, I'll be please to rephrase it!

Thanks!

I also have this problem. It is a software problem, It will sometimes say checking for new photos and then it will go retrieve them. What i do is restart my phone. Its a pain but its the only way it will work for me. It also does it to me when i actually take a picture, therefor you go back to the camera app and click the top right where it shows your recent pictures taken and click on it then scroll right

Yeah restarting the phone is usually what I have to do too. I was just hoping there would be another solution. Somehow force the Gallery to restart itself as opposed to making the whole phone restart. If only there were a "refresh" button on the gallery to make it rescan the card for photos.

I was thinking [and hoping] that a developer would be able to create some sort of app that would just force the gallery to look for new images.

Actually KDroidX, I just found this thread. Looks like there's a MountSD app that will basically do what we're looking for.
