Root Droid Pro Reboots

I am having a lot of problems with my Droid Pro rebooting itself. I have had it for just a little over a day and it has reset itself probably 20 times or more. I did one factory reset, which seemed to fix it for awhile, but then it started going crazy again. Who else is having this problem?

After researching it a bit it seems like many android phones are having the same problem but its difficult to lock down any type of solution since there are so many different phones. The best guess I can get right now is that perhaps its a Froyo problem. Any thoughts?
 
From what I have seen from others is that the only fix is to get a replacement. I haven't had this problem but if I did it would get swapped for a NEW one
 
I also got a new Droid Pro yesterday. I upgraded to the newest Droid OS to 2.26.60 when I first got it. Then it started to reset (not sure if this had anything to do with my upgrade). It reset over and over again. I think I can now predict when it will reset ... when you are using the phone it does not reset, but when you leave it and let the display timeout it crashes and does a reset. This seems to be 100% consistent. Not sure if other sequence of key strokes or actions might also cause the crash, but the timeout of the display causes the crash and the annoying Motorola Logo to come up and then the phone saying DROID as it reboots. In half a dozen years never had my blackberry crash. Anyway I am on my way to the Verizon store see if a new phone will fix the problem. I will let you know.
 
Mine has rebooted twice, both times it was early in the morning around 4-5am. Both times the "DROIIID" sound woke me up.

i'm from Germany and I'm having the same problems with my droid pro as you. The Motorola Service told me there might be a hardware problem. They want me to send it to the service center in the US.
The phone isn't available in europe yet, so the service center in europe cannot fix it :(. Is there anybody who knows how to fix the crash/reboot problem? I do not believe in a hardware problem and won't send the phone to US for nothing.

seems to be a pretty common problem, should merge these threads - hard reset was no help, the store was no help, and verizon hq is not being helpful
 
every android phone i've had rebooted. PERIOD. sprint htc hero, motorola droid 1, motorola pro. ALL have random reboots. WTF IS UP WITH ANDROID
 
nice, glad i ddint take that junk used phone to replace my 1 mo old one.. looking forward to the update

verizonwireless.com/droidsupport didnt work though lol

when is this out? my phone still says its up to date
 
I put back the screen timeout. And did not get more reboot, that's not it.

But strangely, without timeout set the battery was drying in 8h or so, even with low usage and I close the screen manually. With time out battery life is way better. Only shutting the screen manually seems not to disable some screen background processes.
