Root Droid pro won't re-root

Probably not a Pro problem directly, but I will start here.

Z4rooted the phone without a problem and happily used it for months, then along came a system update. I did not have the phone with the update was applied(a friend was using it and just answered yes).

After the update it was unrooted.

I have tried over a dozen times to re-root with the app and everytime it reboots or locks up when it gets to the "opening root shell" part of the process. I have tried un-rooting as well and the same thing happens, locks up or reboots.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

It sounds like you'll have to flash the SBF. Several users elsewhere have reported similar problems because they installed the update while rooted. You end up in a state between rooted and unrooted where you actually cannot achieve either. They had to go the SBF route to fix things. That completely flashes you phone to stock, the same way Motorola or Verizon would do it.

I should have said that I had tried the options in your the other post and those options didn't work. I have gone the SBF route and that worked, but it was not fun :-)
