Droid Razr HD dock - attaching phone

I have a case on my Droid Razr (not a Maxx) that prevents me from attaching the phone to my HD dock, made by Motorola. Apparently the dock has an insert that is supposed to be removable, but the manual just says to remove it, and doesn't say how. I can pry the insert a bit, but there's no obvious way to remove it, and I'm worried that if I pry too hard I'm just going to break something. How do I get this insert off? I know this is a silly question and I'm probably missing something...but better to ask than accidentally break it.

Maybe the insert if for RAZR vs RAZR maxx.

I have the razr car dock and the insert is pretty hard to remove. It takes alot of pressure to remove amd does feel like its going to break, but it does come out.

Turns out that if you pull the back of it toward the front, it will snap off. Yeah, it feels like it's going to break but then it just snaps off, and then my Razr (in its case) fits nicely.
