Droid Turbo 2 on its last legs

I still have my Turbo 2. I am due for an upgrade just not really that excited about any of the phones right now and my battery is still doing ok on my Turbo 2

I upgraded to a Moto Z2 Force. I needed something that would run 7.1.1 and 8.x. I got iy whe they REALLY wanted it to get out and cut the price in half.

I am in a weekly business meeting and we still take picture with the Turbo 2.

So I think my Droid Turbo 2 is near its last legs too. Should I get a Moto Z2 Force? It seems expensive? Or something else? Or hold out for something better. I have to say, I'm disappointed with Motorola on this Droid Turbo 2. They replaced it a year ago and it has just gotten so slow, though I have not tried a factory reset yet. I thought there was a thread on people's plans for next phones, but couldn't find it.

I remember you suggested that when I posted a thread before. I do it about 2 times a week. But still issues with slow to pull up Apps, slow to respond to Home button, slow for keyboard to pop up, slow to rotate, slow to respond to pushing icons, etc. Hence why I am considering a new phone, but I want to be able to use headphones.

Tired of the 5+ seconds response on screen, and Close Your App, Wait, etc all the time, I have moved on to Google Pixel 2 XL. I do miss the DT2 weather widget.

It sounds like it was OK for a while and then degraded and you did a Wipe Cache Partition and it was OK again?

The approach is ...

Wipe Cache Partition
If problem is still there reload into Safe Mode
If problem disappears, it is caused by an app that you added
If problem is still there Factory Data Reset
If problem is still there replace the phone

If you have already replaced it ... just for information ... do a Factory Data Reset and see if the problem disappears.

Well, I've seen your similar question on another forum. Have you looked at any of those phones that were recommended (Z2 Force; the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2XL; Moto Z2 Play)? If so, what turned you off about them?

And, of course, there are always the Samsung phones. I wouldn't want one myself, but they remain popular. I'd also wondered about the Essential phone, but I've seen such mixed reviews about it, even months after release, that I'd think that I'd stay away until they stabilize it, and we see if the company lasts (Google and Samsung will last.)

Also, what's important to you? Firmware updates? Camera? Support if the phone breaks? Headphone jack? SD card support? How long do you want to keep the phone (I suspect a long time if you still have a T2, but some people update every year or, at most, two.) The answers to these questions would affect what people recommend...
