Droid Turbo 2 won't unlock on swipe

I've had my Droid Turbo 2 for about a month now. Every once in a while, the phone won't unlock from the original screen with a swipe down to the "lock" icon. It just freezes and won't do anything. I end up having to hold down the power button until it finally shuts down and restarts. Then it happens again, as soon as the screen sleeps.

It's becoming a real pain in the ***. Any suggestions? Once I am successful with the swipe to unlock, I do have a pattern that I need to swipe to fully unlock the phone.

HELP!

Okay, that's weird. I posted my issue because I was currently experiencing the issue. I just went to use my phone and it had me completely log into google again. It went through the screens of the initial set up in order to back up my contacts, photos, apps, etc. I don't know what's going on....

Welcome e to Android Forums.

I don't use it much. I generally use None.

When this happens can't you just tap the power button, the home screen appears, swipe up on the screen, and enter the pattern or pin code?

Hi again Thom, The step you mentioned is the screen that I am unable to get to. When I tap the power button, a digital clock appears and the small lock icon. I need to hold my finger on the lock icon and swipe down. When I swipe down, the lock icon freezes and I can't get the screen to do anything. It just stays black with the lock icon frozen in the lower portion of the screen. A previous poster mentioned that Lollipop is having this issue so my guess is that Lollipop is the problem.

I thought that you swiped up from that icon to unlock the phone?

Without touching the screen I tap the power button.
A larger clock is displayed and there is no lock icon.
I then swipe up on the screen and the pattern lockl screen appears.
