When making a phone call, why does the data pause or turn off? I used to have the Maxx and I was able to use the google maps, look at email, use my computer with the hot spot while on the phone, but with with the ULTRA, I can't do any of this. All data is paralyzed and this is a REAL INCONVENIENCE to me.

A web search turned up the statement that for whatever reason VZW will only support simultaneous voice and data with this phone when its voice over LTE service becomes available. A Motorola support page says that some carriers disable data during calls, which suggests that they would says that this is Verizon's choice rather than an intrinsic limitation of the phone, though I cannot confirm that.

If the first of those links is correct then hopefully it will start working for you some time soon. Other than waiting all I could suggest is that you let Verizon know that this is not what you expected.
