Droid X and Facebook Contacts

I got a Droid X today. Still not sure if I like it or want to keep it. I set up my facebook account with the native app - and all of my FB contacts are now in my contact list! I tried to remove one, and it told me that I had to remove that friend from my facebook account to remove them from my contact list. WTF? Is there a way around this? Are my only two choices to either have my contact list on my phone filled with a bunch of people I don't want in there, or to not have facebook on my phone?

I just got it too, but I already love it. The thing I did with the FB contacts, is you can narrow it, such as to "Phone Contacts" and it weeds out the FB contacts, and if you add a number to certain FB contacts (as opposed to their native FB listed number) then they'll appear in this list too. It bothered me at first to have all those people their too, but I'm already getting used to it.

Helpful but not the solution. My phone is coming Monday. I have way too many FB friends that I will never need to contact via my X. I think I read about selecting not to sync the two but I can't find it now.

Had the same problem when we added Facebook to Settings, Accounts. Had to go back to Gmail to remove the Facebook contacts and then they were synced to the phone and it was OK then.
