Droid X - New type of Facebook problem

First, the normal stuff. I have a Droid X on the Verizon network.

ISSUE #1
Ok...so I've encountered a Facebook issue that I haven't been able to find in the forums yet. I'm having the problem with the phone not updating the pictures in my contacts, as friends change them on their accounts. What I'm finding, is that I seem to have TWO - yes, TWO - Facebook applications on my phone, but one of them I can't get rid of.

I don't have the SYNC option that everyone talks about in the Facebook application, nor do I get it when I go to the ACCOUNTS settings, because it won't let me add Facebook. In the ACCOUNTS settings, I see two FB apps -- one is small, and has a red check on it. The other is my actual application.

I have read and done the following: MENU --> Settings --> Accounts --> Add account. In the Setup Accoutns section, I see two FB icons. One is smaller, and has a green check on it. The other is larger, and no check. When I choose the checked one, I get the following message: "Account already exists. You can only have one active Facebook service account at time." The other one doesn't do anything.

In my Accounts section, I see the following things: Sync, Twitter, and my Google e-mail address. No FB.

ISSUE #2
Recently, I have been getting the following error message in my task bar from Facebook: "Error: Facebook username or password incorrect. If you recently changed your password please re-enter the new password now." I have done that (password hasn't changed), and nothing. Below the UN/PW section, I see the option to "Remove account." Does this remove it from my phone, or will it delete my Facebook account in general? I'm willing to choose Remove, but must know that I'm not going to delete my account.

Thank-You!
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. I don't know if anyone else is having this specific problem.
