Droid X or HTC Incredible??

I can upgrade now with my Verizon contract. Tell me why I should choose one over the other. Don't give me that"only you can decide crap" I know that already. I have done my research and really have not made up my mind yet. Thanks!!

To be honest I am a fan of the Droid X, but my contract is up and I don't have 200 to spare. I think I am going to just keep goin with my Moto Droid and wait for the next big thing once I get next XMAS bonus.

Like a similar to or better than Droid X with a 1.5 or even 2 ghz processor? I'm thinking if it continues like it is with phones one-upping, that is entirely possible, even likely.

Droid X is nice, It all matters if you want the large screen. The Incredible has a good speed to it, and a good size. if you want a phone that's portable and easy to carry around and like the HTC stylings go incredible. If you want a larger screen, go for the droid X. Both are great phones, and IMHO the real deciding factor is size of hte screen.

both are very capable phones and will probably handle your needs for the next 2 years(sucks those upgrades take so long!:-/ ).

I was going through this same issue until a couple of days ago. I was gonna get the droid incredible was growing impatient, so I looked at the Droid X. Had thought about which one, and the D-X took it for battery life. I don't know if I could have a phone that won't make it through the day.

I, personally, am still torn. I went in yesterday with the plan to order the Incredible. Then the guy took out the X.

I now have one on hold, but I'm still not convinced. The Incredible is what I had been planning on. The X is pretty amazing looking. The screen is insane. I just don't know if I want that in my pocket all the time.

Thanks guys. I think I will just wait until I can hold the phones side by side. The larger size is nice but I don't know how comfy they will feel in my jeans. Being a fairly big guy 6'2", I'm ok with big phones; I just don't know how they will feel in my pocket. I'm also thinking of waiting a bit longer for the Galaxy S on Verizon. That 4 inch Super Amoled screen looks pretty incredible (hehe) too!

The main concern with the D-X seems to be pocketability.. I think shortly after getting my D-X, I am going to get a clip or a case/otterbox for it when they become available.

I would choose the Incredible. As far as CPU power and all of that there isn't a huge difference, but the form factor of the Incredible to me is more appealing. The 3.7" screen is the perfect size for a pocketable device. I tried putting the EVO in my pocket and it felt like a piece of lumber was in there poking me in the leg every time I took a step. The Droid X is slightly smaller, but the 4.3" screen just seems too big.

Also, that bulge at the top of the Droid X is a deal breaker for me. It just looks silly. I hated the "chin" on the G1 too if that counts for anything.

Have the Inc now. Going back for the DX.
1) Touch screen is not responsive with one finger (grounding issue).
2) Device resets itself few times a week
3) Battery will not make the day if you use the phone moderately
4) Call clarity is not good.
5) No accessories docks, powered car mount, etc.
6) Want HDMI out.
7) With a skin on the DX, it will about the same size as my Inc with a silicon case.
8) Reception/signal is weaker than my Samsung i760 I replaced. Need better reception. Went camping with no signal while wife's 3 year old whatever phone also on verizon was getting signal and text messages.
9) I think 4.3 " screen will be great. I've never watched movies on my phone before the Inc. Now thinking the larger screen will be nice.
10) screen is poor in direct daylight. I'm sure all screens suck, but the DX should be slightly better.

I think another thing to consider is when you want the phone. The last article I read said that previous orders wont be delivered until Aug 3. Who knows when someone who ordered one tommorrow would get it in hand.
If you want a Droid X you better hurry, too. Looks like the preorders to be filled by the 15th for the X are close to full, might not be able to gaurentee that date much longer for pre-orders.:(

I think it depends on what you want to use the phone for too. If you are going to want to do a lot of media i think you definitely want to go with the droid x. it has so much more media wise over the incredible. with the display, the hdmi out, hd video recording, 8 mp camera with dual led flash. it is just a media powerhouse. plus it is going to be going for the same price as the incredible why not get more out of your money.

I think that is the main selling point for me. I will always have a camera/videocam with me to use for my 3 and 5 year old. Plus they can play games and watch their shows on a large screen. The verizon store showed me a dummy Droid X, man that thing is more LONG than anything. The length is fine with a tall guy like me. It also feels thin which I like, but very SOLID. I will also get a car dock so I can use it as a GPS on my car. Can't wait til the 15th, I think Motorola will have a lot of these like the original Droid.
