Droid X

Hey my droid X is in the mail, I'm just wondering what to expect. How is the virtual keyboard? I've never used Swype before so I'm looking forward to trying that out. Is it easy to type with?

I haven't used swype that much but I love the virtual multitouch keyboard. I can type pretty fast with it and its nice that it doesn't miss my presses when I'm going fast.

Swype is pretty easy. Definetly have to do the tutorial to.learn how to do punctuation and a few other little tricks.

Swype is amazing! Is has a bit of a learning curve but once you get used to it (shouldn't take long) it makes things very easy. The Droid X's default keyboard is pretty good too.

Lol you didn't use it before you bought it?

You lucked out tho, Swype now makes physical keyboard obsolete. I love it when people comment on my Droid X, and say how they still like their env 3 because its a good "texting phone." Then I show them how much faster they could text with swype or even voice input.

I definitely bought it before I tried it. After reading all about the device I thought that it was wayyyyyy too powerful to pass on. Especially since my contract is coming due, perfect opporunity.

Honestly, as far as texting phones go, the enV3 is great. That's what I use now and i can text nearly as fast as i can type on a computer keyboard. So this is my first foray into the world of smartphones and I've never been more excited about a phone. This day and age, however, I'll probably use it for all of the other things (internet, etc.) more than as an actual phone.
