Help Droid x2 rooted then updated... how to fix without bricking

I rooted my x2 and a friend took it and updated the software... I still have the superuser app but i used the root checker app and it says I don't have root access how can I return it to normal without it getting bricked

Are you trying to return the phone? Since you now have the update all you have to do is a factory reset. Start - settings - privacy - factory data reset.

will this get rid of the super user app and be as if it was never rooted?

I don't think so. A factory reset wipes out user apps/data, and the data for system apps, but does not add or remove system apps. Since the super user app is a system app, it should remain after the reset.

at least on the droid X, i had to SBF to remove the superuser app (and subsequent reboots into clockwork).

tried wipe and full reset, to no avail (sbf'ing however, did work in a matter of ten minutes)
