☞DroidFit Does Heavy Lifting!
Application name: DroidFit (ver. 1.1.0606)
Price: Free
Developer: Team YD (www.droidfit.com)
Droid Does. Everyone knows that by now. But do you know there's a little app that does the heavy lifting of workout planning and logging of the progress for you?
Developer's description:
First Thoughts:
I am a weight-lifter who loves her Droid Incredible phone. I also like setting fitness goals and keeping track of my personal records for motivation. But I HATE lugging notebooks, books, magazines to follow a workout routine. So my natural step was in the direction of a perfect android app. I must say I tried quite a few applications in 'Health & Fitness' section before I ran into DroidFit. I took it to the gym the same day and I am glad I did!
After setting up my 'stats' in the 'profile' I input my weekly workouts (including type of exercise, number of sets, rest time) and was set to go. Pandora playing in the background, DroidFit walked me through my routine without a hitch and even praised me a couple of times for breaking my PR
Couple of times I was not able to do the set number of reps, so I adjusted those accordingly and the app logged it.
User Interface
The app does lack in 'sexiness', but I like the simplicity of the interface and ease of creating my own workout plan. (For those who would rather use a pre-made one DroidFit comes with a 4 day split). DroidFit also comes with an ever-growing database of illustrated exercises for all major muscle groups. App is not cluttered with unnecessary options ("Just the facts, Ma'am.....just the facts"). Let's face it, when your fingers are shaking from exhaustion you don't want to fiddle with little buttons.
Customization
- enter your body stats
- ability to set either kilogram/meter or pound/inch
- workout plan name
- types of exercises
- number of sets
- number of repetitions
- rest period (in seconds)
- option to time your rest period
Final Words
Not once did DroidFit crash on my Droid Incredible (2.1). The developers seem to be serious about perfecting the app (after checking their website all the users' concerns were taken into consideration and desired features implemented asap). Love the 'Body Stats' and 'Lifting Stats' progress charts.
If you like doing serious lifting at the gym and like to keep track of your progress DroidFit app will be a perfect companion. It will do all the heavy lifting of data entry and logging. One thing it WILL NOT do - magically lift the weights for you![Smile :) :)](/styles/smilies/google/smilie.png)
Wish List:
- downloadable database of various workout routines
- video/image import of my own exercise demonstrations
...and here's my video walkthrough of the app:

now go hit them weights!
