Dropbox - Shortcut to files

Masedroid

Lurker
Heyho, I want to know, if it's possible to drop shortcuts on my homescreen to the files wich adjudicates in my Dropbox without to activate the app and searching endless hours through the files? Thanks :)

Hi

Yes it is!

First, in the dropbox app, favourite the files you want links to - press the star. This makes a local copy of the folder&file (and keeps it synced) in the following folder on your phone:

/storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.dropbox.android/files/scratch

Then use an app such as ESfile manager (free on playstore) to find the file you want a link to (the copy in the folder above) long press the file, select "more" from the bottom menu, press "add to desktop". Thats it - you can then change the icon & label for the link if your launcher lets you. Its a bit long winded but saves a lot of time with things you access a lot.

Hope that helps

Roger
