DropBox: Upgrade not well-reviewed: Using DropSynchPro?

I've read the comments about the recent DropBox upgrade and they are not positive. Some comments referred to using DropSyncPro to resolve the deficiencies. In this case, does one install DropBox and then install DropSyncPro as some kind of overlay?

Would SugarSync just be an easier approach to getting simple up/down storage in the cloud?

I'm not having any issues with the Dropbox upgrade, and not heard of DropSyncPro. I do have comments though on SugarSync. On paper SugarSync looks amazing, but actually using it is another matter entirely. The entire design of how the end user interacts with it is a complete mess. I simply hated it. Dropbox design for the end user is far superior.
 
I see no difference in DB (other than totally different ui). I have DB as my "cloud" in File Expert. Do all my access through File Expert. Very easy to move multiple files in or out of DB that way. Through the new DB app I haven't figured out how to download a file... use to be long press and download, now ???

I like the new Dropbox app just fine.

That's more or less the idea. The Dropbox app does up/downloads but not sync. DropSync adds true 2-way sync, just like the desktop Dropbox client. Another app called DropSpace is also handy. It also syncs, but not a 2-way sync like DropSync.

Would SugarSync just be an easier approach to getting simple up/down storage in the cloud?

Not to me but YMMV.
 
Another +1 for File Expert ... Tool you can't be without.

Personally, I prefer the Sugarsync method, allowing you to choose what folder to sync, or make your own specific folders to sync, not to mention the huge storage space available (I have 27GB on a totally free account).

Not really sure how it could be a mess. Go to the folder you want to sync, sync it, and its on your Sugarsync account and in the corresponding folder in your PC.

On the phone yes. But what if I want to sync to a specific folder in my PC? it can't. With Sugarsync, I can sync specific folders on my PC as well. Dropbox only syncs whatever is in the Dropbox folder. Not to mention the space it provides you is very small.

I consider that to be an intelligent safety/security feature. Wouldn't want it any other way.
