Dropped HOX in sea, still works perfectly!

A couple of days ago, I dropped my HTC One X into the sea by accident, picked it up straight away, and dried it on my t-shirt. It showed no signs a malfunction at the time, nor since. I haven't switched it off, taken it apart, or dried it out in any way. It still works and looks as good as the day I bought it. I'm impressed. :)

Yeah it might be ok now, but I'd still do the bag of rice trick for a few days.

Water is obviously very bad for electronic equipment, salt water even more so.

Yeah, as said above I'd dry it out.

Extremely lucky if it still works perfectly though, what was you doing with your phone anywhere near the sea? :D

I'll update in a few days or so. I think the fact that it has a non removable battery and no memory card helped, as less places for water to get in.

I know the bottom of my phone(where the screen meets and the plastic) you can see light between that area. So I know for sure water would seep into the inside of mine.

You never know, by some miracle, it might be fine (hopefully). I'm sure I've seen a vid of someone submerging their SGS3 and it worked perfectly afterwards so stranger things have happened.

Let us know how it is, I'll be pretty impressed if it is ok (although I'll have no plans to test out with mine any time soon :p).

I dropped my Bold 9900 into water and it worked perfect afterwards. But, someone on a forum pointed out that the water indicators will of turned red and if ever the phone goes into repair, the warranty will be voided (even if its a non - related issue probably).

So, if you have insurance, i would consider claiming. Even if they send the phone back and say its fine and not damaged, that will be enough to re-instate the warranty.

My mates phone once fell into a bucket of vomit at the side of his bed. Someone phoned him and it vibrated off his side table and into the bucket lol! The phone was ruined so he put it on eBay fs spares or repair and he put in the ad that it had been dropped in a bucket of sick and someone still bought it!
