Dumb question - what's my email address?

Newbie here. :-) I just bought a used AT&T Captivate and I'm getting it set up. I'm moving off my BlackBerry. What is the email address of my phone? I assume it's my phone-number@something. What's the "something" part?

When your new android phone was set up, you will have added (or created a new) gmail account. Your phone is then tied to that account. It is also possible to receive emails from non-gmail accounts too, however a gmail account is still required for the market and so on, so you definitely have one of those.

If you bought the phone used, it's possible you didn't do this yourself however. You can get the email address by going to Settings >> Accounts & Sync, which should show the gmail account. (However, I would recommend you factory reset the phone, wiping all data, and then add your own gmail account upon the initial setup).

Yep, I did that. I already had a gmail account and I entered that. So that's my phone's email address? Then I guess I was all set and didn't know it. I have a lot to learn. :-) Thanks!

You also can still send (or forward) text messages to yourself via e-mail by sending mail to yournumber@mms.att.net. It used to be @txt.att.net ... that may still work, but in looking through my e-mails, all the recent ones are from the first one I listed.
